Rich Dad Poor Dad, written by author Robert Kiyosaki, is probably one of the most read and well-known personal finance books ever written. It was #1 on the New York Times best-seller list for 98 weeks. After reading the book, here is a Rich Dad Poor Dad book review.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is a book that explains why the rich get richer and the poor and middle-class don’t. The key to this book is that this information is fed to the reader in the way of a story based on the authors experiences as a child. In the story young Robert Kiyosaki has a “rich dad” (a sucessful businessman) and a “poor dad” (a middle-class public servant). The rich dad taught Robert why it is smarter to own businesses, compared to working in them eg. why work to make your employer rich?. And to use money to make money. Robert’s poor dad had a totally different view on business and finance and this is where Robert Kiyosaki explains why “rich dads” views on money and finance will result in a higher net wealth. The reason the book is so popular is due to the fact that this book is written in simple language that everyday people will understand. Not only does Robert Kiyosaki explain how the rich get rich, he explains why it works.

The book covers a variety of financial issues such as financial literacy, running a business, real estate, taxes, corporations & trusts and cashflows.

If you are look for a “get rich quick” style of book, then don’t buy Rich Dad Poor Dad. This book is purely for those interested in educating themselves on why the rich get rich (and how they stay rich) and steps you can take to mimic them and improve your own finances. I highly recommend that you read this book.
