If you’re like me, I’m always looking for ways to save money anyway I can. The wonderful thing about the internet is that in addition to making it far easier to spend money, there are a large number of websites that help you save money as well. I’ve recently come across some great resources to help save some money that I’d love to share with the readers of PFJournal.
The NY Times recently ran an interesting article with some ways you can save money using your cell phone. One of the more interesting items I discovered was the ability to make free International phone calls. A service from Futurephone.com allows you to place a call to a number in Iowa (either 712-858-8883 or 712-945-1111) that will allow you to then dial an International number at no extra charge. Apparently, there’s no catch and Future Phone doesn’t plan on charging for this service until at least 2010!
Another great way to save some money using your cell phone is to let it help you do some comparison shopping when you’re away from your computer. Simply dial 888-Do-Frucall (888-363-7822) and when you’re prompted enter the barcode numbers. The service will then give you prices for that item at three online stores.
A great resource for finding deals online is DealsofAmerica.com. This wonderful site continually updates the best deals and specials to be found online. You can also do simple price comparison, hunt for coupons and rebates as well as look for free deals and specials. Other useful online comparison shopping sites include Pricegrabber.com, Shopzilla.com and good old Shopping.com.
